Operation Christmas Child Shoebox
We are approaching the time of year when we would usually be thinking about our usual Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Sunday here at EBC. This year, however, will be a little different, due to all the guidelines and rules in place to keep everyone safe in the middle of this pandemic.
We are inviting you to pick up at least 2 empty, flat packed shoeboxes as well as a hat and scarf for each box and labels, from the church building either on a Sunday morning or during office hours in the week (from this week) . You can then take them home to fill, including hygiene items such as bar soap, a toothbrush and a sponge or flannel, making sure that the items are suitable for the age of the child you choose. A list of allowed and disallowed items for the Shoeboxes can be found below.
You will need to return your filled Shoeboxes by November 8th, ready for collection. If you are happy to, we would love you to film yourself making the boxes up and send these videos to us, to be shown on the Sunday morning.
Although this year will be different, we really encourage you to take part and get involved. These Shoeboxes continue to bring joy to children around the world as well as enabling us to show the love of God to them.
If you have any questions please contact the church office at firstname.lastname@example.org or on 01344 487744.
