Call to Prayer

Simon writes…

A warm greeting to everyone in the EBC family and to anyone checking us out online! We’re really sorry not to be able to gather physically at this time but I am convinced that God will work through the current situation to draw people closer together relationally and closer to Him spiritually. On the next page, you will find a link to the first of our short talks (this one from our Minister, Steph) that we will be releasing for you to watch each weekend.

Once you have watched the video, we encourage you to reflect on the bible texts and join us in the prayer that you will find on the next page.

We are under no illusions that we’re a slick media production company and whilst we aim to get better at doing things this way, we really hope that you will find that the content brings us as a church family closer to God and to each other.

Do keep a lookout for further blogs and videos, and please be in touch if you need help. I’ve been so encouraged by the positive response of folk at EBC and other churches this week as we seek to be beacons of hope for people in this troubled season.

May God bless you.
Simon

Reading from 2 Chronicles, chapter 7 verses 12 to 16

“I have heard your prayer and have chosen this place for myself as a temple for sacrifices.
“When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command locusts to devour the land or send a plague among my people,  if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place. I have chosen and consecrated this temple so that my Name may be there forever. My eyes and my heart will always be there.”

Prayer & Reflection

Loving God, we are called by your holy name and saved by your beloved Son, Jesus Christ. We humbly acknowledge our sins and ask that you empower us by your Holy Spirit to look to you, to seek you in all humility, and to beg for your forgiveness, healing and help.  Father in heaven, help us to be attentive to what you are saying and what you want us to do at this time. Help us to be united under your Kingship, to show your love and bring your light and hope to people now and always. Lord, we lift before you all those who are living with illness, with fear, with isolation. We cry out to you to send help from heaven. All of this we ask for your glory and in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Psalm 24 verses 1—2:  The earth is the LORD's, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it; for he founded it upon the seas and established it upon the waters.

I am New

Welcome from all of us at Easthampstead Baptist Church!

Thank you for taking the time to learn a little more about us. As you explore our website, we hope that you catch a broader glimpse of what EBC is all about. It's about people - people just like you - who want to embark on a journey to discover more of God and his will for our lives.

What should I expect on a Sunday Morning?

Sometimes going to a church for the first time can be a little daunting. I promise we won't bite! To help ease any uncertainties below are the answers to some common questions people have before attending a Sunday morning.

What do I have to wear?
We are a 'come as you are' sort of people and have no formal dress-code for our Sunday services.
We can assure you that we don't have bouncers on the door vetting your attire!

If you are still not sure, feel free to check out our services on YouTube to have an idea.

What time do I need to be there?
We run two Sunday morning services which start at 9:30am and 11:00am.
On the 4th Sunday of the month we run our All-sorts service which starts at 10:00am.

Check out our other services below!

We would recommend you turn up 10 minutes before the service starts so you have a chance to say hi!
If you have children that need signing in to the children and youth work, they need to be signed in from 10:50am.

Parking
There is plenty of parking both out the front and at the back of the building. Just follow the signs!

How safe is my child in your care?
We run separate children and youth work during our 11:00am service, which is run by a group of volunteers who have all been DBS checked.

Children ages 11 and under must be signed in and out by their parent/carer. The youth can sign themselves in and out.
