Easter Sunday

This Easter Sunday, our Team Leader, Simon, brings us the latest of our short video talks. Once you have watched the video, we encourage you to reflect on the bible text and join us in the prayer that follows below.

Reading from John chapter 14, verses 1 to 3

“Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you?  When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am.”

Prayer & Reflection

Father God almighty, maker of heaven and earth, forgive us our sins. Thank you for giving us life and for blessing us so richly with your love and mercy.

Lord Jesus Christ, comfort us in our hour of need. Thank you for redeeming us from sin and death, and for going to prepare a place for us in heaven.

Holy Spirit, please guide and guard, teach us, correct us and empower us to do the Father’s will.
In your mercy, Lord God, hear our prayer. Amen.

Questions to Consider
In his talk, Simon offers four “Reasons for the Season” of Easter. Those four reasons are listed below, with a question for you to consider appended to each.

Reasons for the Season
1. So that the disciples would spread the good news about what they had witnessed. How might you share a “good news” story this week – and are you willing to share your faith when you do so?

2. Because God, despite humankind’s sinfulness, loves us and wants us to be reconciled with Him. Are you aware of God’s love for you? Take a moment to reflect on the blessings God has given you and thank Him for them.

3. Because there is a price to be paid for sin – so Jesus paid it for us, once and for all. Have you said “sorry” for the wrong things you have done recently? Are you aware that God has offered to forgive you, once and for all, and paid the price Himself?

4. So that Jesus could conquer death and go to prepare a place for us, with the Father. What do you think Heaven will be like – the place there that Jesus has prepared for you?

I am New

Welcome from all of us at Easthampstead Baptist Church!

Thank you for taking the time to learn a little more about us. As you explore our website, we hope that you catch a broader glimpse of what EBC is all about. It's about people - people just like you - who want to embark on a journey to discover more of God and his will for our lives.

What should I expect on a Sunday Morning?

Sometimes going to a church for the first time can be a little daunting. I promise we won't bite! To help ease any uncertainties below are the answers to some common questions people have before attending a Sunday morning.

What do I have to wear?
We are a 'come as you are' sort of people and have no formal dress-code for our Sunday services.
We can assure you that we don't have bouncers on the door vetting your attire!
If you are still not sure, feel free to check out our services on YouTube to have an idea.

What time do I need to be there?
At the moment we have one Sunday morning service which starts at 10.00am
.
On the 4th Sunday of the month we run our All-sorts service which starts at 10:00am.

Check out our other services below!

We would recommend you turn up 10 minutes before the service starts so you have a chance to say hi!
If you have children that need signing in to the children and youth work, they need to be signed in from 10:50am.

Parking
There is plenty of parking both out the front and at the back of the building. Just follow the signs!

How safe is my child in your care?
We run separate children and youth work during our 10:00am service, which is run by a group of volunteers who have all been DBS checked.

Children ages 11 and under must be signed in and out by their parent/carer. The youth can sign themselves in and out.
