Snow Fun!

Did you enjoy or just endure the heavy snowfall this past weekend? I imagine some of you were understandably nervous at the idea of venturing out in all of that white slippy stuff, while others couldn’t wait to get out there for snowball fights, sledging and building snowmen!

I was sent this lovely picture from two EBC friends, Eric and Margaret, who shared this topsy-turvy snowman built by some of the younger members of their family. Isn’t it amazing?!?



My wife Claire and I also ventured out for a walk, and whilst we didn’t build a snowman we did dare to test our balance a little bit –


 
I am reminded yet again of the glories of God’s creation! We can make snowballs, but He can make snow! We can make snowpeople but He can make actual flesh-and-blood people! And we might even be able to carry each other sometimes (to be fair, Claire’s mostly been “carrying” me for the last 27 years!) but God can always carry us – if we’ll trust Him.

He can certainly carry us through this difficult season of Covid and lockdowns, when maybe we all feel a bit upside-down, like that snowman. He is the all-powerful Creator of the universe, and He loves us. May you enjoy the beauty of creation today and everyday, in whatever form you discover it, which you surely will if you just take the time to look and to notice.

Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart. (Psalm 37:4)
