Life Together: Part 3 - 'Going Deep'

This Sunday, Simon Lace brings us the talk in the latest of our EBC services. We encourage you to reflect on the bible text and join us in the prayer that follows below.

Here are some questions to consider:

Readings:

Isaiah chapter 43 verses 18-19

Forget the former things;
    do not dwell on the past.
   See, I am doing a new thing!
    Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the wilderness
    and streams in the wasteland.

Isaiah chapter 46 verses 9-11

Remember the former things, those of long ago;
    I am God, and there is no other;
    I am God, and there is none like me.
 I make known the end from the beginning,
    from ancient times, what is still to come.
I say, “My purpose will stand,
    and I will do all that I please.”
 From the east I summon a bird of prey;
    from a far-off land, a man to fulfil my purpose.
What I have said, that I will bring about;
    what I have planned, that I will do.

Prayer and Reflection:

Loving God, forgive us when we fail to trust You. Help us to find the courage to go deeper with You, moving forward with confidence to the future you have planned for us, instead of looking always to the past. Help us to love and care for one another, to be compassionate and forgiving and to carry each other’s burdens when they weigh heavily on us. Thank You that You have a plan and a purpose and that You invite us to share in the glories still to come. In Jesus’ name.

Amen.

Questions to Consider

1. How would you describe the season you are currently in?
2. Do you sense yourself clinging to anything you ought to let go of – and if so, what is it?
3. Do you trust God?
4. What are some of the characteristics and promises of God?
5. If you trust God, what might going deeper with Him look like in the season ahead?
6. With whom are you travelling in life? Do you go deep with them? If not, with whom can you start to connect more deeply? Life group, accountability partners, prayer triplets, clusters, family members?
7. Do you sense that God wants you to wait, or take a step forward in this season? With whom can you discuss and pray this through?

Welcome from all of us at Easthampstead Baptist Church!

Thank you for taking the time to learn a little more about us. As you explore our website, we hope that you catch a broader glimpse of what EBC is all about. It's about people - people just like you - who want to embark on a journey to discover more of God and his will for our lives.

What should I expect on a Sunday Morning?

Sometimes going to a church for the first time can be a little daunting. I promise we won't bite! To help ease any uncertainties below are the answers to some common questions people have before attending a Sunday morning.

What do I have to wear?
We are a 'come as you are' sort of people and have no formal dress-code for our Sunday services.
We can assure you that we don't have bouncers on the door vetting your attire!
If you are still not sure, feel free to check out our services on YouTube to have an idea.

What time do I need to be there?
At the moment we have one Sunday morning service which starts at 10.00am
.
On the 4th Sunday of the month we run our All-sorts service which starts at 10:00am.

Check out our other services below!

We would recommend you turn up 10 minutes before the service starts so you have a chance to say hi!
If you have children that need signing in to the children and youth work, they need to be signed in from 10:50am.

Parking
There is plenty of parking both out the front and at the back of the building. Just follow the signs!

How safe is my child in your care?
We run separate children and youth work during our 10:00am service, which is run by a group of volunteers who have all been DBS checked.

Children ages 11 and under must be signed in and out by their parent/carer. The youth can sign themselves in and out.
