Out of the Box
Gift Day - November 2nd

This Sunday, Rob Lea  brings us the talk in the latest of our EBC services. We encourage you to reflect on the bible text and join us in the prayer that follows below.

Here are some questions to consider:

PRAYER
Lord God, thank you that by your grace and Jesus’ great sacrificial gift we can come directly to you in prayer in all circumstances. Please        forgive us for those times when we have taken this gift for granted or have been too busy to speak or listen to you.
Lord, teach us to value our possessions in the right way. Help us never to think more of them than of people. Make us ready to use them freely for the good of others and to share them generously without grudging.
We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, who became poor that we might be eternally rich
AMEN

Questions to Consider

  1. In Simon’s letter dated 15 October and headed ‘Gift Day’ he writes that ‘our church is at a crossroads’. What does he mean by that? (If you don’t have a copy of the letter, please get one from the Church Office – it’s VERY important!)
  2. Jeremiah 6:16 says, ‘Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths…’ What do you think this means?
  3. Do you think that ‘tithing’ (the idea that God’s people should give one tenth of their income/profit to the church) is still applicable today? If not, how do you interpret Matthew 23:23?
  4. What did Jesus mean when he said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’? (Acts 20:35)
  5. It has been said that ‘Giving is about faith not money.’ In what way is giving about faith not money?
  6. Whatever is going on in your life and whatever the circumstances, is your first instinct, to call upon God, to pray?
  7. Do you agree that our staff and volunteers at EBC need prayer support? Do you pray regularly for them? If not, will you?
  8. Jesus’ sacrificial gift of dying for you on the cross was the greatest gift of all time. How do you, how will you respond#
  9. Are you committed to praying for an amazing response to our ‘Gift Day’ and full attendance at our church meeting on 23 November?

I am New

Welcome from all of us at Easthampstead Baptist Church!

Thank you for taking the time to learn a little more about us. As you explore our website, we hope that you catch a broader glimpse of what EBC is all about. It's about people - people just like you - who want to embark on a journey to discover more of God and his will for our lives.

What should I expect on a Sunday Morning?

Sometimes going to a church for the first time can be a little daunting. I promise we won't bite! To help ease any uncertainties below are the answers to some common questions people have before attending a Sunday morning.

What do I have to wear?
We are a 'come as you are' sort of people and have no formal dress-code for our Sunday services.
We can assure you that we don't have bouncers on the door vetting your attire!
If you are still not sure, feel free to check out our services on YouTube to have an idea.

What time do I need to be there?
At the moment we have one Sunday morning service which starts at 10.00am.

On the 4th Sunday of the month we run our All-sorts service which starts at 10:00am.

Check out our other services below!

We would recommend you turn up 10 minutes before the service starts so you have a chance to say hi!
If you have children that need signing in to the children and youth work, they need to be signed in from 9:50am.

Parking
There is plenty of parking both out the front and at the back of the building. Just follow the signs!

How safe is my child in your care?
We run separate children and youth work during our 10:00am service, which is run by a group of volunteers who have all been DBS checked.

Children ages 11 and under must be signed in and out by their parent/carer. The youth can sign themselves in and out.
