Sunday - May 10th 

This Sunday Rob Lea brings us the talk in the latest of our EBC services. We encourage you to reflect on the bible text and join us in the prayer that follows below.


PRAYER  (Based on Ephesians 3:16-21)
Lord God, we pray that out of your glorious riches you may strengthen us with power through your Spirit in our inner being, so that Christ may dwell in our hearts through faith.
We pray that, being rooted and established in love, we may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of God, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that we may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of Jesus Christ.
Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in this church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever!
Amen.
 
Questions to Consider
  1. In Romans 3:23, Paul writes that ‘all have sinned’. Do you agree with this? What about newborn babies, have they sinned?
  2. In Romans 5:8, Paul writes, ‘while we were still sinners Christ died for us.’ How would you explain this?
  3. In maths, if A = B then B = A. The bible tells us that ‘God is love’ (1 John 4:8). So, can we say, ‘love is God’? Is that correct?
  4. It’s been said that ‘it’s vulnerability that cultivates deep and meaningful relationships.’ If you agree with that, can you explain why/how?
  5. In Romans12:1 Paul writes ‘In view of God’s mercy’. What does he mean by this, and why is it important that this precedes what he writes later in the chapter (12)?
  6. Read Romans 12:9-13, Paul lists a number of activities. Which are the most challenging for you, and why?
  7.  Romans 12:18, ‘As far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.’ Has there ever been a time when this has not been possible for you?
  8. Romans 12:20 finishes, ‘…….. you will heap burning coals on his head.’ What does this mean?

What should I expect on a Sunday Morning?

Sometimes going to a church for the first time can be a little daunting. I promise we won't bite! To help ease any uncertainties below are the answers to some common questions people have before attending a Sunday morning.
 
What do I have to wear?
We are a 'come as you are' sort of people and have no formal dress-code for our Sunday services.
We can assure you that we don't have bouncers on the door vetting your attire!
If you are still not sure, feel free to check out our services on YouTube to have an idea.
 
What time do I need to be there?
At the moment we have one Sunday morning service which starts at 10.00am.
 
On the 4th Sunday of the month we run our All-sorts service which starts at 10:00am.

We would recommend you turn up 10 minutes before the service starts so you have a chance to say hi!
If you have children that need signing in to the children and youth work, they need to be signed in from 9:50am.

There is plenty of parking both out the front and at the back of the building. Just follow the signs!

How safe is my child in your care?
We run separate children and youth work during our 10:00am service, which is run by a group of volunteers who have all been DBS checked.

Children ages 11 and under must be signed in and out by their parent/carer. The youth can sign themselves in and out.
